• Chapter 7 Part 2 Snow walks to a tall bookshelf in the corner and takes out one of the books. It makes a creaking sound and separates into two parts, revealing a dark staircase going down. Every 10 feet or so, a lit torch hangs on the walls, illuminating the path. Looking at our shocked expressions, snow said. "It's okay, I won't kill you" and he starts walking down. After a moment of hesitation, we follow him. The place is cold. Colder than the vent. I pull my jacket in closer to my body and try not to shake. Seeing me, jake wraps one arm around me and whispered. "Don't leave my sight" I nod and keep walking down the stairs until snow stops in front of a wooden door. He forces it open, showing that it hasn't been opened for years. The room is not what I expected. Velvet couches fills every corner, along with carpets and silk hanging on the wall. A glass chandelier hangs in the middle if the room. The stone walls are covered with pictures men and women that all looked like snow. He leads us to a table in the middle of the room with a big leather book. He flips over the pages until he founds what he's looking for and starts reading. "Panem is one powerful country, ringed with 13 districts. It's a country full of rage and hatred that can lead up to a rebellion any time. The young men and women that helped the Capitol's victory in the darks days will return, and the choice is theirs. To help the rebels, or the Capitol. " Snow closes the book and takes a seat on one of the couches. "Do you understand now?" He asked. When jake and I stayed silent, he speaks up again. "The rebellion in the dark days was helped by two people like you, with the ability to know almost everything here, even the future. They chose to fight for the Capitol, leading to our victory, and the hunger games. My ancestors said that those kind of people will come back, and I'm sure it's you two. So that means that a rebellion is close by" He straightens up and starts toward two portraits of a girl and a boy. "This is Viena Grace and Alvin Chase" snow said, pointing to the pictures.
