PowerPoint is a program that allows users to build presentations. PowerPoint features functionalities that enable a user to add text, images, animations and other elements to a document, as well as edit and format it with different colors, fonts and backgrounds. It was acquired by Microsoft in 1987 and soon after became a component of the Microsoft suite. Since then, PowerPoint has become one of the most used applications in the world as it enables users communicate messages in a concise, visual manner.
