Freecycle is a non-profit organization that gathers perfectly good items, thrown out by others, and posts them on the site and gives them away for free. Their objective is to reduce the amount of trash in landfills and instill a spirit of generosity and giving in people. All items received are taken as donations and are tax-deductible. Users can post what they have (OFFER) or need (WANTED). The concept has been replicated in over 110 countries around the world. Freecycle currently has over 9 million members globally, with over 5,000 groups.
