Turbotax is a brand of digital tax preparation software for the US and Canada. It was originally the name of a software package in the 1980’s made by Chipsoft, which was acquired by Intuit in 1993. Intuit developed a platform for Canadian tax returns separately as QuickTax, but also renamed it to TurboTax. There are currently many versions of TurboTax, including downloadable software, online versions, and even mobile apps.
